The new-build mixed-use development, occupying a c. 1.75-acre site within Newcastle’s city centre achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.

Comprising of a 265-bedroom 4* hotel that included a bar, restaurant and business centre, a 575 student residences spread across 9 storeys as well as 20,000sq ft of ground floor retail space, the development made the most of its former 1960’s shopping centre site.

The 185,000sq ft student accommodation, operated by Unite Students, was designed in a courtyard arrangement that incorporated various communal spaces for residents to utilise.

Dalata Hotel Group plc signed a 35-year lease to operate the Maldron hotel flagship, boasting state of the art business centre facilities alongside hotel facilities and restaurant space.
